Native to the western United States and Canada, silky phacelia is a colorful, showy wildflower known for providing strong benefits to pollinators, such as honeybees and butterflies. Growing from 4 to 36 inches tall, silky phacelia has thick stalks of dark blue or purple flowers and silvery-pubescent fern-like leaves. The fuzzy flowers grow in tight clusters that emphasize the rich color when found in nature. Unlike other members of the genus phacelia, silky phacelia is a long-lived perennial that grows from a woody base. Typically blooming in the summer, it can tolerate full sun to partial shade. Is fairly drought tolerant and has low water requirements.
Scientific Name: Phacelia sericea
Each wildflower seed packet contains approximately 100 seeds.
