Fremont's goldfields, also known as vernal pool goldfields, are endemic to the vernal pools and meadows of the California Central Valley. Named after John C. Fremont, this annual herb provides a compact and bushy growth habit, with multiple stems, small narrow leaves, and bright yellow daisy-like flowers. Fremont’s goldfields can thrive in disturbed areas, such as fields and roadsides, and are valued for their cultivation in native wildflower gardens and meadows. Its flowers bloom from March through May, attracting pollinators such as butterflies and bees and providing an important food source for birds and other wildlife.
Host Plant: white-lined sphinx, small heliothodes moth, and many butterfly caterpillars
Each wildflower seed packet contains approximately 100 seeds.
