Native to the southwestern deserts of the United States, as well as northern Mexico and the southern California coast, desert sand verbena is a low-growing annual known for its rounded clusters of bright purple and pink flowers. Because it is native to these hot climates and deserts, it prefers full sun and well-drained soils. This also allows it to have a high drought tolerance, which makes it a fairly low-maintenance wildflower to grow. Desert sand verbena does not grow to be very tall, and it often will not grow taller than 12 inches. It typically blooms between February and May. Beneficial for pollinators, such as honeybees and butterflies. Has a very sweet fragrance and sticky flowers.
Scientific Name: Abronia villosa
Each wildflower seed packet contains approximately 100 seeds.
