Kentucky Bluegrass

Native throughout Europe and Asia, pasture-type Kentucky bluegrass is a cool-season perennial grass with a sod-forming growth habit. It prefers cool climates in the northern half of the United States, and performs best in highly fertile soils. Kentucky bluegrass can reach a height of two feet and produces a dense root system. One of the most palatable pasture grasses available and nutritious to all types of livestock. Tolerant of heavy grazing. It can be grown without irrigation in areas receiving 18-25 inches of precipitation annually.
