Creeping wildrye, also known as beardless wildrye, is a perennial grass native to western North America. It often grows in moist habitats, sometimes among heavy and saline soils, forming dense rhizomatous roots which allow it to grow at the water’s edge. Creeping wildrye is an easy-to-establish option for rangeland grazing, to stabilize waterways, and to help prevent soil erosion.
Host plant: white-lined sphinx, woodland skipper, Nevada skipper, armyworm moth, bronzed cutworm, glassy borer, and darted wainscot
