Bahia Grass

Bahia grass is a warm-season perennial grass with a spreading growth habit introduced from South America. It’s very aggressive and easily spreads by seeds and rhizomes. Produces fair to good quality forage and is also used for low-maintenance lawns. Bahia grass can grow up to three feet tall and tolerates a wide range of soil types. Most productive on sandy soils. Excellent for erosion control along roadways and other high risk areas. It can be grown without irrigation in areas receiving at least 12 inches of annual precipitation.
